On the 20th of March, we had the honour of exhibiting at the Youth Economic Development Programme hosted by eThekwini Municipality in Durban.
the event was filled with energy, inspiration, and powerful connections. We connected with passionate young individuals ready to step into their purpose, build businesses, and create meaningful impact.

20 learners from Stanger Training School for Special Needs experienced the magic of equine therapy during a beautiful hippo therapy session hosted at Buzz Barn, Fairview Estate in Ballito, in collaboration with SDLC NPO
We began the morning with gentle grounding breathwork to help the children feel calm and present, followed by somatic movement to awaken the body. From there, the joy continued through horse riding, grooming, and meaningful connection — not just with the horses, but with nature and themselves.

SDLC and Ethekwini Municipality Tongaat Beach Library came together to celebrate the joy and power of reading with the learners of Seatides Combined School.
Students explored the importance of reading, the journey it takes us on, and the opportunities it opens for us all and they were encouraged to visit the Tongaat Beach Library and sign up as members
Learners had the chance to read a piece of a book themselves together
An exciting, inspiring day filled with learning, confidence, and imagination.
In celebration of Read Aloud Day, SDLC NPO, together with Ethekwin Municipality Tongaat Beach Library, hosted a reading programme for learners in Grades 2 and 3.
The learners visited Tongaat Beach Library, where they were given the opportunity to read aloud in a supportive and engaging environment.
Each learner received a bookmark and a small gift as a token of appreciation.
The core message of the programme was to encourage learners to develop a love for reading and to sign up as members of the library to development and empower themselves with reading

SDLC is partnering up with TNT Creative Solutions and Padel 365 (Greenstone) to host a fundraising Padel tournament to support
SDLC NPO at the Illembe Gala Dinner.
The SDLC team recently visited Stanger Training Centre, a school dedicated to children with special needs. Our visit was an inspiring opportunity to connect, learn, and support the incredible work happening at the centre.
SDLC was honored to be invited to celebrate Women’s Day, we had the privilege of handing out 10 Education Packs and 10 Feminine Wellness Packs, supporting the students’ learning and well-being. It was a joyful and inspiring day, filled with connection, celebration, and the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of these young women.

Our Chairperson visited and shared about her academic journey for Career day with learners at the school.
Thanks to the generous donations we received, we were able to assist those affected by the devastating KZN tornado in 2024.
Our Christmas Campaign brought happiness to over 50 kiddos over the 2024 Chrismas period.
Cooked meals were shared with 12 families in need on Chrismas day 2024.
Our Back to School Drive is a heartfelt initiative dedicated to equipping children with the tools they need to succeed in the classroom.

We spent the day at Seatides Combined School, connecting with learners and providing a platform for them to be heard, seen, and empowered. Each child brought their unique voice, authentic style, and perspective, and we were honored to listen, engage, and grow with them.
