SIMONIA BUYS MARIMUTHOO
FOUNDER  

 

A dynamic leader, passionate change-maker, and devoted mother of four who believes that lasting social impact begins at home. A force for empowerment, she has dedicated her career to uplifting women and children and transforming communities across South Africa.

 

With over 18 years of experience in account management, technology, and the corporate sector, Simonia combines business acumen with a deep commitment to social entrepreneurship. She is the founder of Simonia Development Learning Centre (SDLC), where she spearheads programmes that provide education, skills development, mental wellness support, entrepreneurship guidance, and digital literacy opportunities to women and children.

 

Simonia is a Certified Life Coach and NLP Practitioner Holistic Wellness Coach, as well as a Certified Breathwork Facilitator, and Equine Holistic Practitioner, bringing a unique integrative approach to personal and community development.

Her holistic methodology emphasizes mental health, emotional resilience, and well-being alongside practical skills and education.

 

A social entrepreneur, Simonia bridges the gap between corporate expertise and community empowerment, creating innovative programmes that deliver sustainable social and economic impact.

Her vision is to foster inclusive, resilient, and thriving communities, where women and children have the tools, confidence, and support to realize their full potential.

 

NICOLE NAIDOO

 

A proud graduate of the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls, where she demonstrated exceptional leadership and initiative. She served as Chairperson of the Cultural Committee, Deputy Chairperson of the Library Committee, and Founder & Chairperson of the iSchool Press Team, reflecting her commitment to creativity, innovation, and community engagement.

 

She holds a Degree in Biomedical Engineering and has further specialized in Neurosequential Model skills, combining technical expertise with an understanding of human development and learning. As Gender and Transformation Officer for the School of Electrical and Information Engineering, she is dedicated to promoting equity, inclusion, and diversity within academic and professional environments.

 

Passionate about empowering and inspiring youth, she believes her life’s purpose is to spread kindness, joy, and love, fostering growth, resilience, and opportunity for the next generation.

 

Beyond her formal achievements, she is deeply committed to mentorship, social impact, and community development, actively creating platforms that support young women in education, leadership, and personal growth. Through her work, she strives to cultivate a culture of empowerment, collaboration, and positive change — inspiring those around her to dream bigger, lead with purpose, and make a meaningful difference in the world and our very own

DEANDRE VANMALI

 

A BCom Informatics graduate and current Honours student, with an unwavering passion for technology and its potential to drive social and economic change.

Her work bridges the worlds of business, information systems, and digital innovation, equipping her with multidisciplinary expertise that is highly sought after in today’s technology‑driven economy.

 

The field of informatics cultivates critical thinking, problem‑solving, and the integration of technology with organisational strategy, preparing graduates to be both technologists and business‑savvy professionals.

 

As an Assistant Lecturer for the BCom Informatics Capstone Project at the University of Pretoria, Deandre mentors and supports students through real‑world technology challenges, fostering collaboration, leadership, and practical skills that are in high demand — from data analysis and digital systems design to strategic technology implementation.

 

She envisions a future where her contributions leave a lasting impact at the intersection of technology, business, and personal development.

 

Guided by a belief in lifelong learning, innovation, and empowerment, Deandre is dedicated to helping others navigate the rapidly evolving digital landscape and use technology as a force for positive growth — both professionally and personally.
